New name for waterfront hotel

In case you missed it, Stockton’s waterfront hotel is no longer the Lexington – it’s the University Plaza Waterfront Hotel. The name in part coincides with efforts to now market as student lofts what were supposed to be luxury condominiums.

Also, it’s at the end of the story, but I wanted to note it on the blog as a follow-up to this item a few months ago: A spokesman for owner Patrick K. Willis said the Sacramento businessman purchased the downtown hotel for roughly $10 million. That’s incredible, considering the $62 million it cost the original developer to build it.
