Temp worker contracts approved

This item was back before the City Council tonight.

Though council members expressed concern that City Hall would make payments for temp workers for nearly four years without valid contracts, the new contracts – and a resolution to ratify more than $1 million in payments that already have been made – were approved unanimously.

Councilman Dale Fritchen called the delay in getting new contracts “disturbing” but thanked city staff for “patching up those holes.”

Vice Mayor Kathy Miller said the fact that the problem is being addressed shows that new city management team is “more than paying for itself.”
