Mark Lewis in Chowchilla

Catching up on items from when I was on vacation last week:

Former Stockton City Manager Mark Lewis, who was fired in 2006, has been tapped as Chowchilla’s city administrator. He started last Monday. The city has not yet provided Lewis’ annual salary.

From 2007-09 Lewis was the redevelopment chief for the city of Reno, Nev. He later formed a development consultant company based in Reno and was a consultant for a major development project in Carson City.

Chowchilla, about 90 miles southeast of Stockton in Madera County, has a population of 19,034 and is home to two women’s prisons.
