Catching up

Lots of Stockton news the past few days. In case you missed any of it, here are some highlights:

• City leaders are optimistic that the nonprofit group Fathers & Families of San Joaquin can breathe new life into the downtown teen center.

• Our story Saturday provided an overview of Stockton’s ballooning retiree medical liability.

• Colleague Christian Burkin reports on private funding for downtown police patrols.

• Today we learn of the unexpected death of a young Stockton police sergeant.

• Reporter Joe Goldeen covers the death of Ed Coy, or “Mr. Downtown.”

• The Los Angeles Times does an overview of the local backlash against Forbes’ miserable rating.
