Madison leaving

Municipal Utilities Director Mark Madison is leaving City Hall for a job leading an area water district, he announced today.

Madison, 48, is a 20-year city of Stockton employee and took over the utilities department in 2002. He oversaw the beginning and end of Stockton’s bid to privatize its waterworks, and he helped usher in a massive public works project – currently under construction – to tap drinking water from the Delta.

Here’s the news release from City Hall.
