Eight civilian city workers could lose their jobs by the end of the month, but some union members are pushing for a revote on a package on health plan changes to save the jobs.

•The trial for Ramiro Reyes was postponed again. Check back in Nov. 24.

•You might have noticed that District 1 City Council candidate Xochitl Paderes reported a $529.47 campaign contribution from the city of Stockton. Officials in the City Clerk’s office say that’s most likely a reporting error. The amount was a refund for an overpayment of Paderes’ charge for printing her Candidate Statement of Qualifications in the ballot pamphlet for the primary election. The City Clerk’s office is waiting for word from the state Fair Political Practices Commission on how that amount should have been properly disclosed.
