City Council live – dead trees, and consultant contract approved

Jeff Gamboni, a Stockton landscape architect with the organization Stockton Beautiful, announced that his group and the Downtown Stockton Alliance have partnered to replace 30 dead trees on Weber Avenue downtown. There’s a fund-raiser coming up.

Now on to the council agenda.

Approved in the consent agenda was an item to pay an outside consultant to replace former Chief Financial Officer Mark Moses until a replacement is found. The consultant, William Thomas, will make $19,600 a month, and the search is expected to take 90 days. His firm will also make a one-time $22,500 to conduct the search.

Thomas has been at work since Sept. 2. Yesterday, he attended the City Council audit committee meeting.
