Medical pot live – pot ordinance endorsed, again

City Councilwoman Susan Eggman agrees with some of the lawyers who suggested that maybe there should be some kind of community oversight selection panel established to monitor implementation of the ordinance and suggest future changes review dispensary applicants. Eggman suggested each council member recommend a member on a seven-member panel.

As for allowing more than three dispsensaries: No, Martin said. But we’ll see how things play out in the future she said. Who knows? Maybe we’ll have farms. Lots of laughter.

After discussing some tweaks to the proposed ordinance, Eggman asked for some acknowledgement from the medical pot community that the city was working with it on fair compromise. Applause around the room.

And more applause now that the committee has endorsed the draft ordinance. It’ll go before the full council Aug. 24.
