SCEA authorizes concessions

While the Stockton Police Officers Association was hanging billboards about body counts in its battle with City Hall, the Stockton City Employees Association, a civilian group, authorized furloughs and forfeited a pay increase Tuesday, concessions a union official put at about $2.3 million next fiscal year. In return, the administration said savings would be applied to services performed by association members, saving some members’ jobs (The union posted details on its blog).

Ballots were counted late Tuesday at the former Chase Bank Plaza, an official said. The vote was 189 – 86.
