5:35 p.m.:

Deputy City Manager Laurie Montes is in charge tonight. Interim City Manager Kevin O’Rourke left for San Diego today for a conference of city managers (O’Rourke is to be trolling for a CM for Stockton).

5:39 p.m.:

Ashley Kimball, a Lincoln High School student, is at the podium asking if any council member would like to shave his or her head at a St. Baldrick’s Day fundraiser for childhood cancer research, on March 17. The council members are so well known, she said, that involvement would increase contributions greatly.

Vice Mayor Kathy Miller said she will not shave her head, but that she could be a volunteer clipper.
