More from City Hall: Weaver off transit board

7:17 p.m.:

The City Council has voted 4-3 to appoint Les Fong to the San Joaquin Regional Transit District Board. Former Councilman Floyd Weaver, a current board member, received three votes, from council members Elbert Holman Jr., Leslie Baranco Martin and Dale Fritchen.

Weaver and Fong had tied in voting in a first round, in October, when some council members were absent.

A video is playing about Stockton Events Center. Mayor Ann Johnston is talking about the city’s recent receipt of a Phoenix Award. Former Redevelopment Director Steve Pinkerton, now the city manager of Manteca, celebrated with Johnston and Councilwoman Susan Eggman in New Orleans, where they went to receive the award, Johnston said.

Revitalization Director Dave Harzoff is recognizing the work of Pinkerton and Kitty Walker.

Johnston said the trophy, which she put in front of her, will have a prominent place at City Hall.
