6:01 p.m.:

Retired businessman Gary Malloy, a regular here, is protesting the recommended modification of the city workweek, closing City Hall every other Friday starting in January. The measure, intended to reduce employee commutes to comply with a proposed pollution-reduction rule,  is on consent. Mayor Ann Johnston said it will be pulled for a full report.

6:08 p.m.:

A woman who lives on Fremont Street said she is being cited for having vehicles in her side yard.

6:10 p.m.:

A man who lives on Fremont Street said he erected a fence at his house and has been told to remove it. He said he is being harassed.

6:12 p.m.:

William Childress is back to address the firing of Deputy City Manager Johnny Ford.

6:13 p.m.:

Councilwoman Susan Eggman is meeting at the rail with one of her interns. That intern and Eggman’s other intern left chambers afterward.

6:15 p.m.:

Cynthia Gayle Boyd said she promised her sister, who is undergoing heart surgery, that she would say nothing negative tonight (Gayle Boyd has for months been claiming she is mistreated by police). True to her word, she is reading her resume, and that is all.

6:19 p.m.:

A man is talking about building permit fees, which he said are too high.

6:22 p.m.:

Deborah Gurley is praising the council.

6:23 p.m.:

Tocan Nguyen is upset.

6:26 p.m.:

Xochitl Paderes, a council candidate, is at the podium talking about an American Legion crab feed and various other matters.

6:30 p.m.:

Lester Patrick is talking about Ford.

6:33 p.m.:

Public comment is done. Up next is consent.
