More from City Hall: Fire deal approved

7:16 p.m.:

Interim City Manager Kevin O’Rourke is discussing the agreement. He is suggesting that the city carve out the co-pay provisions and pass the contract. If that disrupts the negotiation, he said, staff would return to council to address that. Vice Mayor Kathy Miller is making that motion. The item is approved 6-0. Fire Capt. Dave Macedo, president of the fire union, said the removal of the co-pay provision would not sour the deal.
