More from City Hall: Boys and Girls Club supporters here

6:05 p.m.:

The speakers during public comment this evening have been the typical ones (and none yet have addressed the Ford situation), except for a number of men and women, including Ramiro Reyes, who have come on behalf of the Boys and Girls Club, which operates the Gary and Janice Podesto Impact Teen Center. Some of the speakers have appealed to the council not to close the center (City Hall does not intend to do that, though some of the speakers were under that impression) and others have been more on point, calling for the Boys and Girls Club to remain its management group. The council next week is expected to issue a request for proposals for groups that might manage the center. In response to a recent California Public Records Act request, the city said the Boys and Girls Club had failed since it took over the center to produce several progress reports and other documents required.
