From City Hall: O’Rourke in the chair

5:27 p.m.:

Interim City Manager Kevin O’Rourke has come into chambers and is sitting for his first City Council meeting here. The Johnny Ford matter, a fire labor deal and Stockton Marina are on the agenda. There are about 90 people here, a bit less than had been expected.

5:30 p.m.:

Mayor Ann Johnston is calling the meeting to order. Absent is Councilwoman Diana Lowery, significant because she is one of the three council members on the ad-hoc committee that investigated the firing of Deputy City Manager Johnny Ford.

Johnston is introducing O’Rourke.

“We’re happy that you joined us here in Stockton,” she said.

She asked O’Rourke if he had anything to say. He said, “I’m looking forward to it.”
