Renison campaign begins

Dave Renison began his City Council campaign Monday in his backyard in a north side subdivision. Renison, 56, was bested in his bid for appointment to the District 1 seat in January by Councilman Elbert Holman Jr., who also is running for election.


Renison, a real estate agent and software technology distributor, had on hand for the occasion about 100 people, campaign pins and a cake and soda bottles with his name on them:



He also had the endorsement of Steve Bestolarides, the last person to win election in District 1 (The appointment of Holman was to fill the seat vacated by Bestolarides when he won election to the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors). Bestolarides introduced Rension. He called him a “smart, independent thinker” and a “family man.” Here is Bestolarides (right), Renison and Renison’s wife, Marjorie:
