Palmer: “Thank you very much”

7:45 p.m.:

Vice Mayor Kathy Miller is recognizing City Manager Gordon Palmer on behalf of Mayor Ann Johnston, who is absent. She is thanking him for his “years of service to the city of Stockton.

Miller┬ásaid, “We wish you well.”

Palmer said, “Thank you very much.”

Councilwoman Susan Eggman is thanking Palmer, too. “It’s been my pleasure to work with you,” she said.

Councilman Dale Fritchen is doing the same. So is Councilwoman Leslie Baranco Martin. She said, “We’ve had the good times and we’ve had the bad times, but I know that every Tuesday we’ve had the opportunity to enjoy each other’s friendship.” She said, “I think you’ve been truly a man who’s withstood a lot of pressure.” She said, “This has been a tough year for everyone.”

Palmer said, “Thank you very much.”

Councilwoman Diana Lowery is thanking Palmer, too.

“Thank you,” Palmer said.

Councilman Elbert Holman Jr. said he has appreciated Palmer’s guidance and advice. “I wish him well, and sail a lot of boats,” he said.

Palmer said, “I want to thank all the council members, and all the councils I’ve served with. He said he wishes the council the best.
