In the second part of its response to a California Public Records Act request for documents related to city officials’ receipt of free tickets to events at city-owned facilities (a report on the first, more significant part, can be found here), City Hall has produced a log of passes issued for play at municipal golf courses and Pixie Woods.

The log has 41 entries from May 2005 through July 2009, the vast majority of passes being issued for charity events.

Johnny Ford, the deputy city manager fired in July in a ticket-related matter (officials said he used his influence to get hundreds of free tickets to events at Stockton Arena and other city-owned venues he oversaw; his attorney said Ford did not do that and that his ouster was unfair), is listed four times, all in 2006. Ford received 30 free passes to Lyons Golf Course and 10 free passes per course to Lyons, Van Buskirk and Swenson golf courses, according to the city log. He received four two-for-one golf passes, and he requested 20 free Lyons passes on behalf of the Port of Stockton, according to the log.

There are four other current or former city officials listed as recipients in the log: Former Vice Mayor Gary Giovanetti, for Delta Rotary, received one two-for-one golf pass; Community Services Director Pamela Sloan received one free pass for a golf foursome at Swenson; Linda Patrick, for the Library Summit, received six two-for-one passes to Pixie Woods, one pass to the Children’s Museum of Stockton and three two-for-one golf passes; and Golf manager Tom Nelson, for customer service purposes, received four free green fees, according to the log.
