City Hall to sweep for covert listening devices

City Hall next week is to have some rooms on the Second Floor swept for covert listening devices, a source said. The source said Mayor Ann Johnston was the chief proponent of that.


The City Council has become sensitive about confidentiality since an account in The Record last month of a closed session discussion about the firing of Deputy City Manager Johnny Ford.


The council recently has been moving its closed session meetings around to other rooms as a security measure. Council members have been warned:
