More from City Hall: Closing McKinley, Ice on the Delta

8:55 p.m.:

Pamela Sloan is done talking about libraries and onto proposed closures elsewhere. McKinley Community Center is proposed to be closed. It is 40 years old, she said.

“It’s very unsafe, actually, to be in the building at this point,” she said.

Sloan said the center should be rebuilt, once money for that is found. She said the pool at the community center, which also would be closed, is infrequently used.

Ice on the Delta and fireworks on the Fourth of July also are to be cancelled, and now Sloan is saying that public art will not go away.

In the back of the room is Robyn Burror, the public art manager who is to be laid off and does not appear to be in complete agreement with Sloan.
