Budget hearing: Day two done

Interim Police Chief Blair Ulring’s presentation was quick and as expected, though it clarified that the city’s reliance on federal aid for fiscal 2009-10 is $5.5 million (the number that would reduce sworn staffing from 401 officers to 344.

It was 9:45 p.m. when Mayor Ann Johnston looked up and said, “I’m of the opinion we should call it a night.”
