More from City Hall: Hotel suit settled

The City Council approved consent without comment and without an item pulled (that has been rare this year). On consent was the council’s settlement of Save Old Stockton v. City of Stockton, in which¬†preservationists sought to block the city’s 2007 bid to demolish at least four downtown hotels.

In settling, the city is to seek a developer to preserve and re-use the Hotel St. Leo and Terry, Commercial and Main hotels. In return, Save Old Stockton is to not oppose the demolition of three other hotels, the La Verta, Land and Earle hotels.
