‘Too thin to plow, too thick to pour’

Stockton fisherman John Banks sends some colorful thoughts after attending last Friday’s anti-tunnels rally in Sacramento.

“As the rally warmed up we heard many times of the 34,000 pages in the BDCP report.  This brought to mind what my old journalism teacher once told me:  If you know the subject that you are writing about, you should be able to explain it in two to three pages.  If you don’t know what you are writing about, it may take hundreds or even thousands of pages.  CASE RESTED.
“If this insane project is accepted, we will end up with an estuary that is too thin to plow and too thick to pour, and we will have catfish three years old that ain’t learned how to swim.”
