Homeless help out

In case you missed it, homeless people living in Mormon Slough pitched in to help after some volunteers failed to show up for Coastal Cleanup Day last weekend.

Here’s a photo from Ricco Ramirez, coordinator of the site.

A team of seven homeless people, plus Ramirez and his 11-year-old son, filled a dumpster before they were forced to call it a day as the rain started to fall.

Ramirez says he’d like to see homeless residents more formally involved in next year’s cleanup event.
