We reported Saturday that people are still illegally disposing of paint in rural parts of San Joaquin County, despite programs that make it easier than ever to do it right.
For a taste of what officials have been dealing with, read this brief one-page report summarizing one of the most egregious paint dumping cases last year.
Granted, most of them aren’t that bad.
Still, adding up reports such as these, I estimated the quantity of paint dumped last year alone at close to 500 gallons — perhaps more. That’s enough, very roughly, to paint the walls of 500 standard 10-by-12 foot bedrooms.
