Delta fish species crashed back down to record-low or near-record-low levels last year.

Here’s today’s story.

And here are the official fall mid-water trawl numbers from the state Department of Fish and Wildlife for each of the six fish species dating back to 1967. Note this is an index representing the population — not the actual number of fish.
