New Melones court documents

There’s no shortage of paperwork in the latest round of Stockton East Water District’s lawsuit against the U.S. government for failing to deliver New Melones water.

Here’s my New Year’s Day story.

And here are the most interesting recent documents: First, Stockton East’s brief explaining why it is entitled to millions in damages; then the response from the feds saying Stockton East shouldn’t get a penny; then Stockton East’s perturbed reaction in which it asks for sanctions against the U.S. for misrepresenting the facts of the case; and finally, the last word from the U.S., arguing Stockton East is relying on “inaccurate accusations and self-righteous indignation.”
