Hogan Dam and a machine gun

The agenda packet for today’s Stockton East Water District contains this entertaining state Division of Fish and Game memo dated Aug. 4, 1949.

I don’t want to spoil the story, so I’ll say only that it involves Hogan Dam and a machine gun.

Man, though, I wish bureaucrats still wrote like this: “The Sheriff’s Office was notified, and there ensued Ye Olde Paul Revere’s Ride; only this ride was one that took on much more speed than Old Dobbin could ever attain.”
