Saturday, Dec. 8: Electronic waste collection event hosted by Onsite Electronics Recycling. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., San Joaquin Delta College Shima 2 parking lot. Collections held here the second Saturday of each month. More details here.

Saturday, Dec. 8-Sunday, Dec. 9: Sandhill crane wetland tours at the Woodbridge Ecological Preserve. Offered the first three weekends of each month, October through February. Reservations accepted up to six weeks in advance. More details here.

Tuesday, Dec. 11: Audubon Society meeting: “Bird Identification — Christmas Bird Count Refresher.” 7:30 p.m., Central United Methodist Church. Freshen up on your skills prior to the Christmas Bird Count. More details here.

Tuesday, Dec. 11: Class, “Introduction to Paramotor Sailing.” 7 p.m., Stockton REI. Learn about “powered paragliding,” the only motorized form of aviation that is not regulated by the FAA. More details here.

Wednesday, Dec. 12: “Muncies at the MuRF” (Material Recovery Facility, better known as a garbage transfer station), 11:30 a.m. at Waste Management, 1333 E. Turner Road in Lodi. This latest version of “Lunch at the Landfill” is hosted by Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce “Green Team San Joaquin.” Those who attend are asked to bring unwrapped toys for the Child Abuse Prevention Council. Wednesday, Dec. 12: San Joaquin Bicycle Coalition holiday ride. 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.; meet at the Empresso Cafe back parking lot on the Miracle Mile. Rides will be held at the same time Dec. 5 and Dec. 19. More details here.

Thursday, Dec. 13: Delta Coalition meeting. 8:30 a.m., San Joaquin Council of Governments in Stockton.

Thursday, Dec. 13: Stockton Astronomical Society meeting. 7:30 p.m., University of the Pacific, Olson Hall Room 120.
