‘We’re not there yet’

Deputy Secretary for Natural Resources Jerry Meral said today that officials are not yet ready to publish the draft Bay Delta Conservation Plan (peripheral tunnels), originally expected in October.

“We’re not there yet,” Meral said at a BDCP meeting today. “…We simply don’t have yet a proposed project.”

The new target: late January or early February.

Meral hadn’t sounded optimistic about the earlier October date.

“I would say it’s possible but with all things government, not certain,” he said at a meeting back in August.
