What’s on tap — weekend of Oct. 13-14 and beyond

Saturday, Oct. 13: Litter collection hosted by Pick Up America, a nonprofit group that is sponsoring a two-year cross-country effort to increase awareness about garbage.  The group says it has already removed 145,390 pounds of litter. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Williams Brotherhood Park, Stockton. Saturday, Oct. 13: Work day at Boggs Tract Community Farm. 8 a.m. to noon. Volunteers welcome. Chores include moving compost and wood chips, weeding and planting winter crops. Saturday, Oct. 13: “C.A.S.T. for Kids” event at New Melones Lake. 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Eagle Point Group Picnic Area. Event allows disabled and disadvantaged children ages 5 years old to 16 years old to enjoy a day of fishing. Saturday, Oct. 13-Sunday, Oct. 14: Sandhill crane wetland tours at the Woodbridge Ecological Preserve. Offered the first three weekends of each month, October through February. Reservations accepted up to six weeks in advance. More details here.
