From the Water Education Foundation, here’s a chance to learn more about the restoration of the San Joaquin River:
SAN JOAQUIN RIVER RESTORATION TOUR
November 8-9, 2012
“The Water Education Foundation’s 2-day, 1-night tour explores challenges associated with restoring flows and a Chinook salmon fishery to the San Joaquin River from below Friant Dam to the confluence with the Merced River. Tour stops include the San Joaquin fish hatchery, Mendota pool, various places along the river under consideration for re-watering, diversion structures, and the Merced National Wildlife Refuge. Participants will see firsthand the progress being made and better understand the coordination taking place among the various agencies to implement one of the largest river restoration projects in the nation.”
