Monday, Aug. 27: Sierra Club meeting. 7 p.m., Central United Methodist Church, Stockton. Agenda includes discussion of upcoming Coastal Cleanup Day on Sept. 15. More details here.

Tuesday, Aug. 28: Presentation, “Introduction to Death Valley.” 7 p.m., Stockton REI. Join Richard Elliot to learn more about the wonders and surprises of this national park. Free. More details here.

Saturday, Sept. 1: Stockton East Water District water treatment plant tour, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., 6767 E. Main St. Free. This is part of the monthly river walk series held by the Friends of the Lower Calaveras River. Come learn where your drinking water comes from.
