The University of the Pacific sneaked into the top 50 “Coolest Schools” in the nation this week, as determined by the Sierra Club. At No. 42, Pacific moved up from No. 68 last year and No. 117 the year before.
The university credits the improvement to the construction of new LEED-certified buildings, an initiative to install high-efficiency lighting and use non-potable water for irrigation, and yes, even a “Meatless Monday” in the cafeteria. (Wonder how the hungry freshmen feel about that one?)
U.C. Davis topped the complete list.
