Juan Sahagun reports that he saw a dolphin in the Delta on Wednesday, about 15 minutes out from Buckley Cove.
“It came up for air right next to our boat and actually scared some of my passengers,” he wrote in an email. “It was the highlight of the trip but we were concerned and I felt I should notify someone of the sighting.”
He did a Google search and found this 2009 story about a dolphin in the Stockton Deep Water Channel.
Alas, no photo this time.
“By the time everybody had their cameras ready, it did not come up again,” Sahagun wrote.
