The Tigers return home 3-4 after a brutal four-game stretch that saw victories over Xavier and Saint Mary’s and losses to Cal and at No. 10 Gonzaga to face rival Nevada.
The Wolf Pack comes in 4-3 with a veteran and talented backcourt of Junior Delonte Burton (18 points and 3 assists per game) and senior Malik Story (17.6 points and 2.6 rebounds per game).
The Tigers will look to carry their hot shooting (47.2-percent) back to Spanos Center in what should be a back-and-forth affair. Senior point guard Lorenzo McCloud leads Pacific at 12.4 points and 3.1 assists per game.
Nevada and Pacific tussle every season and used to be Big West Conference mates. Pacific leads the all-time series 52-45, but the Wolf Pack won 78-54 last season to end a four-year winning streak for the Tigers.
Also, Pacific superfan Dick McClure, who was ejected from Pacific’s 69-67 home loss to Oral Roberts on Nov. 19, is back in his familiar seat at halfcourt. The referees have been advised.
