Going to miss you, Dallas

Dallas Braden is fed up with Stockton’s crime and is moving to Sacramento with his grandmother Peggy Lindsey. The Oakland A’s pitcher and Stagg High graduate blew up at a town-hall meeting Wednesday at Victory Park.

“I’m out of here,” he said at one point.

I understand his frustration. Braden was almost car-jacked and Lindsey’s apartment was burglarized.  Knowing how close Braden is with his grandmother, I suspect the burglary was the final straw. Braden probably feels a sense of betrayal. He has given much to this community. I’m sure he’s thinking, “And this is how you repay me?”

It’s a shame to see Braden lose his faith in Stockton. But I understand where he is coming from.
