Thunder hopes to show strength at home during Teddy Bear weekend

The Thunder has an excellent opportunity to pick up points and prove they have a home-ice advantage this weekend.

The Thunder begins a three-game series with ECHL Pacific Division-leading Las Vegas at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Stockton Arena. The Thunder is just 5-7-2 at home this season, and could turn that around and please their fans by winning this series.

Saturday is “Teddy Bear Toss” night, which is one the fun promotions of the year. Last year’s Teddy Bear Toss netted a record 5,835 bears and other stuffed animals to donate to the United Way of San Joaquin County, who in turn distributed them to local children’s charities.

The record donation helped raise the six-year total to over 24,300 stuffed animals.
