A Whitson of their own?

Pacific opened its 2011 Big West Conference season against UC Davis on Wednesday night.

One of the best players on the other side of the net was junior outside hitter Allison Whitson. The 6-foot-1 Whitson came into the match as the Aggies first option on offense with 227 kills.

By the time Pacific faces Whitson as a senior, it should be equipped with her younger sister Kimmy Whitson. The younger Whitson is currently Palo Alto High’s starting setter and has 168 assists through 16 matches. Kimmy Whitson cannot sign with Pacific until November, but has given her verbal agreement to the Tigers.
