Cougars wait about possible bowl bid

Escalon likely will be considered to represent Northern California in the Division III state bowl game. They won’t know their fate until Dec. 12. Cougars coach Mark Loureiro made a case for his team, which beat Calaveras 22-20 in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division IV championship game on Friday at Lincoln High.
Here is what Loureiro said after the game:
“We’re on the board. You can’t get considered unless you’re on the board. We’re the public schools favorite of this state, we made a statement, our kids fought hard. We have great community, great support. Maybe with a little bit of luck, they’ll consider us.”
