St. Mary’s volleyball coach Angela McShane is in her 11th season.
For the 11th time, she is preparing her players during the week of the Thanksgiving holiday for the second round of the NorCal division of the state championship playoffs. The Rams play Menlo-Atherton at 7 p.m. Saturday at Lincoln High.
This year, for the first time, she has given her players Thanksgiving Day off.
“They’re excited about the holiday and this team works so hard and has such a high energy level,” McShane said. “It’s killing me. It really is.”
The Rams trounced Skyline of Oakland in a first-round match on Tuesday. They blanked the Lady Titans in the first game and gave up just 17 points the rest of the way in their three-game sweep that lasted less than an hour.
