Suddenly stingy Thunder goes for third win in a row

After a shaky start, the Thunder defense, which was supposed to be its strength, is starting to look pretty darn good.
In winning its past two games, Stockton has allowed just one goal. The Thunder goes for its third consecutive victory at 1:05 p.m. Sunday against the Salmon Kings in Victoria.
Obviously goalie Andrew Perugini had a lot to do with these wins, stopping 57 of 58 shots (a starter has not been named for Sunday). But the talented blue line has been much stronger on the forecheck, and done a better job of battling for pucks. And it’s not just the defensemen playing better defense, several forwards are helping out also.
The Salmon Kings are struggling badly at 1-6, and we’ll see if the Thunder can pick up another win before leaving town.
