Titans waive RB Chris Henry
The Tennessee Titans released Edison High graduate Chris Henry today, parting ways with a player they selected in the second round of the 2007 NFL Draft. If he clears waivers, Henry could rejoin the Titans as a member of the practice squad or sign with another team.
Henry, 24, had 122 yards on 32 carries with [...]

Touchdown!: Edison grad scores on second NFL carry
Lynell Hamilton, an Edison High graduate who had three carries as a senior at San Diego State after injuries crippled his college career, scored his first NFL touchdown today at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Buffalo, N.Y.

Who’s house?
I’ve listened to an endless number of coaches and athletes over the years tell me how frustrating it is when teams don’t get any support from the student body, home or away. Don’t count Edison volleyball coach Gabe Leal or his players among the disgruntled.
About 70 students and staff wearing matching t-shirts with “E House” [...]

Fantasy Football Week 3
My team, the Budmen, played against Frank Gore, Andre Johnson and Dallas Clark last week. Needless to say, my boys were crushed.
This week, hopefully, will bring better results, as I’m 1-1. I’ve scored 71 points both weeks, so I need some scoring punch. I tried to pick up Giants receiver Mario Manningham, but an owner [...]

First, for anyone who read my feature on the Franklin High coaching staff, I know I got it wrong. Al Gross played for the Cleveland Browns, not the New Orleans Saints.
With that out of the way, here are my thoughts on Week 2, at least what I know…
Stagg looked very good tonight. It’s always tough [...]

What about the ‘D’?
Got a call from a St. Mary’s parent over the weekend regarding the story I wrote following the Rams’ 48-3 win over Jesuit in Carmichael on Saturday.
Now, I get these calls all the time, especially during football season. They’re usually obnoxious and short-sighted. This caller was neither obnoxious or short-sighted. He was a perfect gentleman [...]

Fantasy Football Week 2
Full disclosure: I’m a fantasy geek. I’ve played in the same league with many of the same guys for about 20 years. The draft is one of my social highlights of the year. What does that tell you about me? So, please enjoy my insights and share your thoughts and predictions for the weeks ahead [...]

Spartans give it a go
San Jose State played with heart Saturday against No. 17 Utah. The Spartans’ defense held the Utes to just seven points in the first half before succumbing 24-14. Utah’s offense was fun to watch in person. They’re precise, disciplined, and varied. At times, they had as many as five receivers running patterns, went to the [...]
