A squirrel perches in a tree in the nature area of Lodi Lake in Lodi. The San Joaquin Audubon Society holds a free introductory birding field trip to Lodi Lake on the 1st Saturday of the month. Birders of all skill levels are welcome. The group meets up on Laurel Avenue at the east edge of the lake off of Turner Road at 8:00 a.m. [CLIFFORD OTO/THE RECORD]
