In the project students pick a word that best describes them or their aspirations then photographers take pictures of them in ways that reflect that word. According to their website, the project, which started 2008, helps to give first year students a “common point of reflection to help them express their level of self-awareness and connect them to their future aspirations.” There are 9 sessions where students can sign up or just walk in each semester (4 left in this semester). Wong picked the word “steak.” BOTTOM LEFT: University of the Pacific student Prajakta Prasana, left, shows her camera’s monitor to fellow student Lena Perry after taking her picture in a photo studio.
