Stockton Ports relief pitcher Carlos Navas enters the Stockton Ballpark wearing a child’s pink backpack with pink fringe and an emblazoned character named Peppa Pig on it before a California League baseball game against the Visalia Rawhide in downtown Stockton. As a part of Ports tradition a reliever who comes into a game from the bullpen and has a homerun hit off of him, must wear the backpack until the same thing happens to another relief pitcher. Nava gave up a homerun in the last inning of a game against the High Desert Mavericks in Adelanto, California on July 27. CLIFFORD OTO/THE RECORD
