One of the more notable television commercials during the Super Bowl was one for the Dodge Ram pickup. Instead of video, it used photojournalistic still pictures set in a slideshow-style presentation in which famed radio announcer the late Paul Harvey recited a poem called “God Made a Farmer.” The result was a moving production of words and pictures that evoked images of America’s heartland.
The ad was so popular that a number of parodies have popped up online. Inspired by that commercial the people at MosaicArchive.com, an online photo back-up site, made a short film of their own. More a homage than a spoof of the original work, theirs is called “God made a Photographer” and features the reasons people become photographers.
