A matter of scale

At Gov. Brown’s press conference, there were a number of charts and graphs set up on easels, a common practice at these types of events. One of these boards had pictures of several different species of fish that live in the Delta. There were little pictures of Chinook salmon and steelhead trout among others, but there was a little problem with scale. They were all about the same size. In fact, if you went by the chart, the longfin smelt, normally only a few inches long, is as big as the green and white sturgeons which can grow up to seven feet in length.
