Can you hear me now?

OK, you go to a beautiful ocean spot like Bodega Bay on the Sonoma Coast. It’s a gorgeously clear day and before you stretches a grand vista of deep, blue sea and, except for a few high wispy clouds, there’s nothing to obstruct your view all the way to the far horizon line.

You stand at the edge of a dramatic seaside cliff. The sound of the waves pounding against the rocky shore wafts upward and becomes a gentle throaty whisper by the time it gets to you.

Do you take in the gracefulness of this sublime seascape? Do you contemplate the meaning of nature, art and beauty? No, you pull out your smart phone, check your reception and make a call.
