Libary update: Supervisors respond

Opponents to a proposal to outsource operations of all or part of the Stockton-San Joaquin County Library came to Tuesday’s meeting of the Board of Supervisors. The city runs the system, in part, with money from the county for branches outside of Stockton. Responding to a request from the county, private company L.S.S.I. had submitted a proposal in summer to take over operations of the library.

Neither the city nor the county has taken action on the proposal, but resistance to the idea formed.
